The Galapagos Islands are known for their unique flora and fauna, made famous first by Darwin’s work on evolution. They also pose some fascinating geological questions, including the origin of the northern Galapagos volcanoes, the focus of our expedition.
The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution is dedicated to research and education to advance understanding of the ocean and its interaction with the Earth system, and to communicating this understanding for the benefit of society.
